By placing an order with Cookies by Colette, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions below.
Payment Policy
Custom & Corporate Cookie Orders: Orders under $250 are required to be paid-in-full to be placed on the calendar, or a 50% non-refundable retainer for orders over $250. This must be paid within 48 hours of receiving the invoice or your order will not be placed and availability may change.
You will receive an email invoice with details on how to pay via Apple Pay, credit/debit card, bank transfer, Venmo, or PayPal.
The final 50% payments for orders over $250 is due 14 days prior to the event. This is the final opportunity to make changes to your order. If you fail to make payment by this date, your order may be cancelled and your deposit will not be refunded.
Small orders (4 dozen or fewer) placed less than 1 weeks before required pick-up date will require a 20% rush fee and large orders (greater than 4 dozen) placed less than 2 weeks before event date will also incur a 20% rush fee.
Prices are subject to change at any time.
Classes (Public, Private, and Virtual): Public posted class tickets must be paid in full upon reservation of a seat.
Private and virtual classes will require a non-refundable retainer of 50% of the estimated total upon scheduling to reserve the date. Private classes require payment in full within 5 days of the class date. Virtual classes require payment in full at least 14 days before class and before shipping any class kits.
Cancellation Policy
Custom Orders: Orders must be cancelled within 24 hours of placing the order to receive a full refund.
Orders must be cancelled no less than 7 days prior to the required pick-up date to receive a 50% refund of the order as store credit toward a future purchase.
Orders must be cancelled 14 or more days prior to the required pick-up date to receive a 50% refund back to the original payment method.
Should an emergency occur on the part of Cookies by Colette in which your order cannot be completed, you will be refunded in full any payment or retainer made. Cookies by Colette will notify you as soon as possible should this occur.
Classes: Publicly offered classes are non-refundable. A transfer of a ticket is allowed, and the contact information of the recipient will be required before class. A class kit may be available upon request for pick-up.
Private and Virtual class retainers are non-refundable, and no refunds will be issued within 10 days of the scheduled private class. No refunds will be issued on Virtual Classes once kits are prepared or shipped. Shipping fees are always non-refundable.
In the event that a class is cancelled on the part of Cookies by Colette, a full refund will be issued, or a credit for a future class can be issued.
Design Policy
Cookies by Colette will not exactly replicate any design made by other bakers and cookie artists. Inspiration photos will be used as such to achieve a completely personalized set that will fulfill your theme and delight you and your guests.
Copyright prevents the usage of duplicating logos unless written permission from the company who owns the logo is received. All corporate branding must be provided in high resolution.
Pick-up, Delivery, & Shipping Policy
Pick-up is available in North Clairemont, San Diego. Once your order is paid and finalized, you will be provided with an address and time window for pick-up.
If you need to have your cookies delivered, there will be $15 fee added to your total within 15 miles of North Clairemont, San Diego. An additional dollar will be added per mile up to 30 miles round trip.
Due to cottage food laws, Cookies by Colette is unable to ship orders outside of California. If your order requires shipping, a USPS flat rate will be added to your invoice depending on the size of your order.
Shipping timelines are estimates only, and delays (USPS, weather, customs for Canada, etc.) are outside of Cookies by Colette’s control. Cookies by Colette is not responsible for melted icing, broken cookies, or delays due to carrier issues.
Once an order is picked up, delivered, or shipped, Cookies by Colette is no longer responsible for any damage in transport, weather exposure, or mishandling.
Refund Policy
All participants must follow safety guidelines during decorating sessions and conduct themselves respectfully with the instructor, other participants, class location hosts, and any other patrons of the location. Hosts of private classes are responsible for adequate set-up with table space, lighting, outlets, and access to hand washing. Children under 12 will require adult assistance and accompaniment at all times.
For virtual classes, participants are responsible for ensuring their technology and internet connection are functioning.
Cookies by Colette reserves the right to remove any participant who disrupts class or behaves inappropriately.
Refund Policy
Once an order has been picked up, delivered, or shipped via USPS, Cookies by Colette is no longer liable for damage to the order. Refunds are given on a case-by-case basis, and 50% of your order total is non-refundable. The remaining 50% will be considered at the discretion of Cookies by Colette and will be given as store credit toward a future purchase. No cash refunds are given. Taste is subjective and not eligible for a refund.
Allergy Warning
While Cookies by Colette follows all applicable guidelines for avoiding cross-contamination in the kitchen, I cannot guarantee that your order will not come into contact with common kitchen allergens, which may include but are not limited to: eggs, nuts, soy, peanuts, milk, wheat, fish, and/or shellfish.
Please notify Cookies by Colette of all allergies before submitting payment for your order so that we may discuss whether or not your allergy needs can be accommodated. You are responsible for notifying all consumers of your order (all people at a party, for example), the potential for all products to contain common allergens.
Cookies by Colette is not liable for any allergic reactions that may occur. As a home bakery, Cookies by Colette's products and kitchen are not inspected by the CA Department of Health or the local health department.
Corporate Order Terms
Corporate clients agree to the following:
Lead Times - A minimum of 3 weeks is required for cookies exceeding 4 dozen. Rush options may be available for an additional fee.
Brand Accuracy - Client must review and approve any digital proofs (if provided). No changes may be made to the order within 10 days of production.
Event & Trade Show Delivery - Clients are responsible for on-site handling and storage. Cookies by Colette is not liable for environmental exposure (heat, humidity, transit, stacking).
Limitation of Liability
The Client acknowledges and agrees that Cookies by Colette will not be liable for any losses or damages, whether indirect, incidental, special, or consequential, in profits, goods, or services, irrespective of whether or not the Client has been advised or otherwise might have anticipated the possibility of such loss or damage.
No Guarantee
The client acknowledges and agrees that Cookies by Colette cannot guarantee the results of any of the services to be rendered. Best efforts will be made, but no results are promised.
Photography & Marketing
By placing an order or attending a class, you grant Cookies by Colette permission to photograph your cookies or event set up for marketing purposes unless you submit a request in writing prior to your event.
